| Our Cosmo Shoot |

On a very cold and wet day last year we were involved in shooting some images for Cosmopolitan Magazine, for their Valentines edition........it hit the newstands a few weeks ago, but thought we'd share the story with you...

| Tiny Lives Charity Dinner, Ellingham Hall |

Last weekend, the gorgeous Ellingham Hall in Northumberland played host to the Tiny Lives charity dinner. The night was a huge success and Jane Robson, who did a truly amazing job pulling the night together, tells us that an estimated £10,000 was raised for the charity. As some of you may know, we support Tiny Lives here at Alison Groves Photography and the valuable work they do supporting premature babies and their families, based at the RVI in Newcastle.

We have been reading the "Book about Innocent" - the smoothie people. It is very inspirational, and we will no doubt be putting some of the ideas picked up into action here at the studio.......the first one is in place already.
We have astroturf carpet in the office......so that we can always feel the grass between our toes....! Guess who's toes!! |

| 87 sleeps til Christmas!!! |

I know, I know...its still September...just! But I have noticed that the Christmas cards are in the shops already and I dont want you all to miss out!!
So first of all I thought I'd get you all in the mood by posting some shots of my boys that I took for last years AGP xmas card.......also because I think they are very cute, and I cant believe how much they have grown up in a year!!

I then went on and created some cards for myself to send out as our family card. And also, did stickers and gift tags.......not that I am obsessed with my boys you understand.........
Last year, lots of clients created cards from their images - either existing images we have done throughout the year and adding a subtle Christmas theme to it - or for those still to have their shoots, we added a bit of xmas to a couple of the shots.......

| How to take great pics of kids: Part 1 |

Whilst up in Glasgow last weekend, Bec and I had the pleasure of doing a portrait shoot for Sheila Samuels of 88 Events. She wanted some shots of her four grand daughters - all 3 and under.
Trying to occupy four toddlers can be a challenge - especially trying to get great shots at the same time.......but we have a solution......lie your second shooter on the floor and get the kids to spinkle grass on her head!! Works a treat as you can see from below!!

| Introducing the team |

The worse thing you can ask a photographer to do is pose for a photograph..... We decided we needed some shots of the team some time last year, and since then they have just sat on my computer - filed under "hideous!!".....Until now!!

| There's me....kind of obvious what I do...?? Photographer, business owner, wife, mum, best friend....and sometimes, just me! |
| Then there is Claire who is my studio manager. It will usually be Claire who answers the phone to you, replies to your e-mail and books in appointments etc. |
| Bec is the other photographer that works here. Many of you will have come across Bec at your wedding - sometimes we work together as a team at weddings - sometimes we work seperately - depending on which package you book!! We have worked together now for quite some time, and have made sure that our styles gel - so that when you look at your album - you cant tell which of us has taken the shot. |
| And here is Louise Lunn the make up artist. She does pretty much all our boudoir shoots, and lot sof our brides make up too. Check out her website at www.louiselunn.co.uk. |

| The Designer Wedding Show, Battersea Park |
